Mrs. Peggy J. Nolan

Mrs. Peggy J. Nolan, 87, after a long heart problem, went to Heaven on August 28, 2018, at her residence in West Point. Mrs. Peggy was born on April 10, 1931, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Billie Benjamin and Goldie Marie Plantz GearHart. She graduated from Staution High School in Troy, Ohio, where she was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1949. She was an honor graduate of Elkhart College in Indiana. She was a long time member of First Christian Church in West Point, where she was a Sunday School teacher and held many local, state, and national church offices. She was an avid bridge player and golfer, and had a few hole-in-ones. She married Arthur Lee Nolan on February 24, 1956, Troy, Ohio and they were married for 62 years. In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Schultz and Linda Roeger and a brother: Jack GearHart. Memorial services will be Friday, August 31, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roy Myers officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include Her husband: Arthur L. Nolan of West Point: one son, John S. Nolan (Rosalind) of Newquay, United Kingdom: Two Grandaughters: Molly and Tara-Nell Nolan of Newquay, United Kingdom: two sisters, Mary Anne Massie of Pinehurst, North Carolina.and Caroline Olsen of Cincinnati, Ohio: a brother-in-law: Earl Roeger of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Home Health Services, Hester Smith, James Flippen, Gene Fowler, and Her caregivers: Lizzie Hammond, Bernice Crawford, Lora Edwards, Rosie Robinson, Delores Manning, Gertrude Carrothers, and Marietta Robertson.
