Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Hannah

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Hannah, 86, passed away on August 3, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mrs. Dot was born on May 2, 1938, in Amory, to the late Raymond and Mattie Lou Yarber Harris. Mrs. Dot worked as an Accountant for Artex for 40 years. She was an avid and accomplished flower gardener. She enjoyed making wreaths, playing cards, fishing, and camping. She thoroughly enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching the hummingbirds. She was a member of Gospel Lighthouse PCG in West Point. She was a people person that never met a stranger. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married Robert Hunt Hannah on April 1, 1960, in West Point and together they shared 54 years. He predeceased her on September 16, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Burgess and a brother, Carl Harris. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include her two sons, Wayne Hannah (Brenda) of Northport, Alabama, and Doug Hannah (Resa) of West Point: three grandchildren, Jayson Hannah (Kerri) of West Point, Brandon Hannah of West Point, and Jay DeVost of Nashua, New Hampshire: three great-grandchildren, Gabryiel "Bean" Hannah of West Point, Kynzlie Hannah of West Point, and Braylen Wayne Hannah of Mississippi: one brother, Alvin Harris of Columbus, her canine companion, Bella, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Brandon Hannah, Johnny Tate, James Melcher, David Burroughs, Jackson Harris, and Stephen Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jayson Hannah, Josh Busbin, Jamie Busbin, Gabryiel Hannah, Jason Devost, her many co-workers at Artex, and her many friends at Gospel Lighthouse PCG.
