Mrs. Frances J. White

Mrs. Frances J. White, 91, passed away on February 20, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mrs. Frances Johnson White was born on May 4, 1932, in Clay County, to the late Hayward Barton and Dollie Freeman Johnson. She was a 1950 graduate of West Point High School. She was a Real Estate Agent for Cline Real Estate in Columbus and worked as a Secretary for the Columbus School District. She married Roy Franklin White on March 25, 1951, in Caledonia and he predeceased her on December 2, 2009. While living in Columbus, she and Mr. Roy were members of the Columbus Church of Christ where she was active with Youth Rally, coordinating the housing. She and Mr. Roy moved to Saltillo in the early 2000's. They then became members of the West Main Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Johnson. Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2024, from 5:00-6:30 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Graveside services will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point with Minister Doug Greenway officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Cross (Mike) of Park City, Kentucky, two sons, Ronald White of Pheba and Richard White (Heather) of Statesville, North Carolina: five grandchildren, Brady White (Sara) of Statesville, North Carolina, Trent White (Aslyn) of Mocksville, North Carolina, Rachel Cross of Park City, Kentucky, John Cross (Lauren) of Murfressboro, Tennessee, and Rob Cross (Brandy) of Saltillo: eight great grandchildren: two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of West Point and Hazel Pearson of Raleigh, North Carolina: two brothers, Roger Johnson of Tupelo and Don Johnson of Mantachie, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit and the Staff of Griffis House at Traceway Retirement Home in Tupelo.
