Mr. George Milton Kendrick

Mr. George Milton Kendrick, 86, passed away on January 12, 2023, at Waverly Care Home in West Point, Milton was born on July 27, 1936, in Smithville - the son of the late Luther M. Kendrick and Era Mae Lovvorn Kendrick Linley. He was a noble man of faith and rich character exuding unbelievable yet undeniable self taught talents and abilities that he offered to his family and friends or anyone in need. Home was his heart. Loyalty was his strength. He was best known in the community for his keen sense and understanding of plants which yielded an impressive and admired array of gardens. The birds sang in harmony of his bottomless supply of nutrients for them, the butterflies graced his handiwork. Squirrels and raccoons challenged his patience. Milton spent most of his working years at Bryan Foods in West Point as the smokehouse formulator for over 36 years until retirement. His passion was plant gardening & bird watching and keeping Walmart, Lowes, Coop, and Tractor supply in business. He was an active member at First Baptist Church in West Point, serving as a Deacon, taking part in VBS activities, Baptism committee and part of the grounds committee. Our family celebrates him as a dedicated son, a devoted husband, a loyal friend, a trusted neighbor, a respected father, an admired grandfather and legendary great grandfather. Preceded in death, in addition to his parents, Alice E. Kendrick (wife of 65 years), Frances Kendrick Linley (sister) Visitation will be on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1:30-2:30PM. at First Baptist Church in West Point. Funeral Services will follow at 2:30P.M. with Reverend Dale Funderburg scheduled to officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors are daughter, Trudy Allen of West Point, son - Kelly Kendrick (Laura) - Pelham, Alabama, - son Trey Kendrick of Franklin, Tennessee, brother, Billy Kendricks - Carthage, Grand Children - Scott Kendrick of Chesapeake, Virginia (great grandchildren, Kentley, Kaelyn, Keagan) Jennifer Kendrick of Quito, Ecuador, Joshua Kendrick (Traci) (great grandchildren) Addison, Emelia, Aspen of Plano, Texas, Jonathan Kendrick (Sarah) of Plano, Texas, Cody Allen of West Point, Bradley Allen of Kansas City, Missouri and Taylor Allen of Starkville. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Eddie White. Honorary Pallbearers will be First Baptist Church in West Point, Glen Brown & Mike Simmons Sunday School Class members and First Baptist Church Family, Bryan Foods Co-workers, Gentiva Hospice, Keena Kaiser, Waverly Care Home staff, Dr Frank Fortenberry, Dr Ned Miller, and Home caregivers Loretta & Shalonda.
