Mrs. Irene Gertrude Orman Tiffin

Irene Gertrude Orman Tiffin, 94, of West Point, Mississippi, passed peacefully from this life to eternal life January 25, 2016, at Trinity Personal Care in Columbus, Mississippi. Born in the Montpelier community in Mississippi, she was second of eight children to Clarence Monroe Orman and Mabell Blake Orman. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in West Point and enjoyed gardening, travel, and was a long time football fan of the Green Wave, Mississippi State, Ole Miss (except when playing State) and several NFL teams. She particularly liked both Manning quarterbacks but Eli Manning had a special place in her heart. Irene married the love of her life, the late William Edward Tiffin, Sr. They were married 34 years and had five children: Carol Tiffin Weishoff (Robert) of Marlton, New Jersey, Patricia Tiffin Arnold (Russell) of Dennis, Mississippi, Elaine Tiffin of West Point, Mississippi, Connie Tiffin Bryan (Donald) of Easley, South Carolina, and William (Billy) Edward Tiffin, Jr. (Karen) of West Point, Mississippi. Irene was also blessed with nine grandchildren: George Weishoff, Andrea Lynn Weishoff, Dr. Samuel T. Norris, Jr. (Christine), Samantha Cahng (Jason), Athena Easton (Scott), Michael Tiffin (Dana), Katherine Tiffin (Mitch), William Edward Tiffin, III and Thomas Tiffin and five great-grandchildren: Jackson Easton, Savannah Tiffin, Sarah Tiffin, Samuel Norris, III, Elizabeth Norris and Tristan Bulley. Survivors also include: sister-in-laws, Virginia Orman and Jewell Tiffin, nieces and nephews: Rev. Roger Orman, Debbie Lofton, David Orman, Bonnie Salmon, Joy Posey, Demetra Logan, Ron Tiffin, Steve Tiffin and Theresa Key. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers: James Orman, Curtis Orman, Charles Orman, Ernest Orman, and Preston Orman; sisters: Frances Orman and Earlene Orman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Trinity Personal Care and Camellia Hospice of Columbus, Mississippi, for their loving care, patience and support so tenderly given during her stay. Services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point, Mississippi, with Rev. Roger Orman officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point, Ms. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, Alzheimer's Association or any charity of your choice.
