Mr. Jimmy David Latham III

Mr. Jimmy David Latham, III, 36, passed away on November 10, 2024, in Columbus. Jimmy was born November 25, 1987, in Clay County, the son of Janet Ann Young and the late Jimmy David Latham, Jr. Jimmy was an electrician with Glenn Machine Works, a job he thoroughly loved. Jimmy was known as a guy that would lend a helping hand to anyone. To know Jimmy was to love Jimmy. He was a loving fiance', dad, son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. Jimmy had accomplished a lot in the last four years since accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Jimmy wanted his family and friends to know and understand what God's word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, where it reads, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. Anybody that knew Jimmy, knew that it was obvious that he had made a major transformation in his life, but it was only through the help of God and God's amazing grace. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00-2:00 P.M. with funeral services to follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Billy Jordan officiating and assisted by Master Eli Latham, who will deliver a personal testimony. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery in Mathiston. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his Fiance', Margeaux Letner of Columbus; son, Eli Latham of West Point; Mother, Janet Latham of West Point; two sisters, Devin Latham and Courtney Walker both of West Point; Maternal Grandmother, Sarah Young of West Point; one brother, John Baker of Columbus; Uncle, Darrell Latham of Madison; Canine Companion: Coal; and a number of cousins and other extended family. Pallbearers will be John Baker, Will Kinsey, Patrick Young, Kenny Chandler, Mike Baker, Cody Hollingsworth, Tanner Langley, Garrett Ledbetter, and Dylan Kinsey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Co-Workers at Glenn Machine Works, Judge Jim Kitchens, Patrick Culley, Stephen "Woody" Woodruff, and the Board Members of The Last House on the Block.
