Mr. Justin Dale Sullivan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Justin Dale Sullivan, a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, and inspiration to all who knew him. Justin departed this life on July 17, 2026, at the age of 38, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Born on February 4, 1988, in West Point, he illuminated the lives of many with his warmth, resilience, and unyielding spirit. Justin was the cherished son of Linda Champion Sullivan and the late Roger Dale Sullivan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bobby and Doris Pate Champion and two brothers, Joshua Dale Sullivan and Jason Dale Sullivan. From a young age, his zest for life was evident, and he carried this enthusiasm throughout his years. He graduated in 2007 from East Webster High School. Professionally, Justin found fulfillment as a woodworker at Ability Works in Starkville. His craftsmanship was a testament to his dedication and skill, and his colleagues admired him for his hard work and positive attitude. Justin attended Old Aberdeen Road Church of Christ in West Point. Justin had a profound love for the outdoors. Whether it was fishing, riding his bicycle, climbing, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, he found joy in every moment spent outside. He was an avid video game enthusiast and cherished the companionship of animals, particularly dogs. Despite the challenges posed by Huntington's Disease, Justin's courage shone through. He refused to let his disability define him, living life on his own terms, and inspiring others to do the same. His Pawpaw Champ, would often remark, “his last name is Sullivan, but he was a CHAMPION," a testament to Justin's unwavering courage and strength. Justin leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance. He is survived by a community of friends and loved ones who will forever hold his memory close. Justin will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire us all. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Taylor Champion officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his mother, Linda Champion Sullivan of Pheba: two sisters, Ashley Sullivan Gentry of Steens and Dawn Copeland Brock of Vernon, Alabama: one brother, Jeremy Sullivan of Vernon, Alabama: one niece, Eden Claire Gentry of Steens: two nephews, John Paul and Cooper Dale Gentry of Steens, and uncle Robert Champion (Pam) of Pheba. Pallbearers will be Wesley Champion, Reverend John Taylor Champion, Jacob Huffman, Westley Scroggins, James Dennis Gentry, and John Paul Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Trend Health and Rehabilitation of Houston, Doctors, Nurses and Staff of University of Alabama - Birmingham Huntington Multi Specialty Care Team, Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Class of 2007 East Webster High School, and members of Old Aberdeen Road Church of Christ.
