Mrs. Louise Smith Rhea

Mrs. Louise Smith Rhea, 90, passed away, on February 9, 2016, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. Mrs. Louise was born November 18, 1925, in Houston, the daughter of the late John Ell and Annie Bell Doss Smith. She was a homemaker and member of the West Point Church of God. She married Dee L. Rhea on April 15, 1944, in Chickasaw County and he passed away November 21, 2011. Mrs. Louise was an accomplished artist, whose painting was featured on the 2015 Prairie Arts Festival 5K Run T-Shirt. As an accomplished artist, she taught an art class at Dugan Memorial Home. She also taught a Bible Class at Dugan Memorial Home. She was an avid and accomplished cook. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Robert D. Rhea; 2 Sisters: Fannie Estell Easley and Era Mae Huffman; and by 8 Brothers: Limmie Ell Smith, John Edward Smith, Tommie Lee Smith, Quitman Smith, Rueben Smith, Robert Priest Smith, William Albert Smith, and Milton Smith. Graveside Services will be Friday, February 12, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. from Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery near Houston with Minister Al Stockton officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her Two Daughters, Donna Danford (Gary) of Buffalo, TX and Lynette McLaughlin (Greg) of Chattanooga, TN; Two Sons, Glen Rhea (Gail) of West Point and Douglas Wayne Rhea (Beverly) of Cedar Bluff; Daughter-in-Law: Glenda Rhea of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; One Sister, Grace Turman of Crystal Springs. Pallbearers will be Scott Killebrew, Jeremy Killebrew, Wayne Rhea, Shane Rhea, Justin Furrow, Jeffrey Chaney, Garrett Danford, and Rob Griffin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., Members of West Point Church of God, and the Nurses and Staff of Dugan Memorial Home.
