Mr. Watson ("Corkey")

Jefferson Lee "Corkey" Watson, 80, died, Friday, December 30, 2011 at his home in Cedar Bluff. Jefferson Lee Watson was born December 26, 1931 in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi to the late Hattie Donahoo and John Alexander Watson. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired "A" Fitter at B & W in West Point, in 1985 after 32 plus years of service. He loved his family, dog "Baby", fly fishing, hunting, riding the roads to talk to friends and logging. He never met a stranger! He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Rodgers, four half sisters, Winnie Golson, Juell Wilson, Louise (Luke) Watson and Frances Howell, and one half brother, Snook Watson. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Andy Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery at Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his Wife of 52 years, Joy Durham Watson of Cedar Bluff, special pup, Baby; two daughters, Sherri Singh (Nav) of Kula, HI, Dana Hudgens (Chris) of Millport, AL; one son, Kent Watson (Stephany) of Cedar Bluff; one granddaughter, Bella Singh of Kula, HI, and five grandsons, Joshua Watson of Shaw AFB, SC, Bryan Robert and Baker Watson of Cedar Bluff, and Jake and Luke Hudgens of Millport, AL; and One sister, Margaret Colbert (Max) of Cedar Bluff, one brother, John Watson of Cedar Bluff and Gary Hillhouse (Mary) of Louisville and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and caretaker Cynthia Profit of Houston. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wayne Donahoo, Bob Washington, Eddie Strickland, Blake Garrard, David "Buzz" Blansett, and Mark Vaughn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., The Nurses and Staff of NMMC West Point, Nav Singh, Chris Hudgens, Reggie Bell, Turkey Durham, Richard Franklin, Ken Dixon, Johnny Mitchell, Eva Ray, Ranvir Singh, Jesse Soto, Robert Jones, friends and former co-workers at B & W, friends from Pheba Tech, and all that knew him.
