Mr. Neal A. Myers, Jr

Mr. Neal A. Myers, Jr departed this life on January 24, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, at the age of 86 years. A lifelong resident of West Point, Neal graduated from West Point High School in 1955. For many years, he owned and operated Myers Auto Repair, where he enjoyed using his mechanical talent to help friends, family and his community. He loved to fish and enjoyed many trips with friends over the years and later enjoyed taking his grandson, Jonathan, along and sharing his love of the outdoors. Neal was an avid bowler and participated in numerous bowling tournaments all over the state of Mississippi during his adult life. On July 18, 1955, he married Mary Lou Cartee in West Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Aaron "Jimmy" Myers, a grandson, Christopher James Myers, one brother, William T. "Billy" Myers, and two brothers-in-law, Bob Paine and Bruce Randall. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Clardy officiating and assisted by Dr. James Towery. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lou Myers of West Point. Other survivors include two sisters, Jean Paine of Kennett, Missouri, and Pat Randall of Oneonta, Alabama; two grandchildren, Jonathan (Ashley) Myers of Lake Wiley, South Carolina, and Janie (Elliott) Knight of Brandon; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nora, and Charlotte Myers, and Ellie and Baby Knight due in March 2024; brother-in-law, Claude (Judy) Cartee; special friend, Robbie Bennett, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Brian Griggs, Wes Millsaps, Sam Millsaps, Alex Millsaps, Wayne Gregory, and Aaron Randall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Miller, James Hemphill, Ethan Griggs, Benny Lee, Brad Williams, Richard Moore, and his many friends and family.
