Mr. Robert "Bobby" Lee Babcock

Mr. Robert "Bobby" Babcock, 62, passed away on June 21, 2015, at his residence in Pheba, Mississippi. Bobby was born August 21, 1952, in Arkansas City, KS, the son of the late Robert and Nina Jane Borror Babcock. Bobby attended Montpelier Baptist Church. He was a member of both the Pheba Masonic Lodge #565 F.&A.M. in Pheba, MS, and the Crescent Lodge #133 F.&A.M. in Arkansas City, KS. He was also a member of the Crowley County Median Shrine Club and a lifelong member of the Arkansas City, KS, VFW Post 1254. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the United States Army, Air Force and Air Guard Reserve. He retired from the United States Postal Service, where he was a City Mail Carrier. He owned and operated Babcock Construction Company. He married Linda Ann Perry-Babcock on September 5, 2010, in Starkville. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. from Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel in Arkansas City, KS. Burial will follow in Springside Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kansas. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point, MS is in charge of local arrangements with Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel in Arkansas City, KS, in charge of arrangements in Kansas. Survivors include His Wife Linda Babcock of Pheba, MS; Three Step-Daughters: Christy Eaton (Lee) of Cedar Bluff, MS, Donna Shelton (David) of Cullman, AL, and Jessica Urell (Matt) of Bethpage, TN; His Two Sons, Bobby Gene Babcock (Jessica) of Arkansas City, KS and Joshua Dewey Babcock (Sheila) of Omaha, Nebraska; Two Step-Sons: John Monts of Springfield, TN, and Samuel Bigham of Starkville, MS; Eleven Grandchildren and One Great Grandson; One Sister, Debbie Bartee of Petal, MS; and Nephew: Joshua Layton (Erica) of Petal, MS. Pallbearers will be Robert E. Babcock, Robert J. Babcock, Jacob E. Babcock, Joshua D. Babcock, Joshua J. Layton, and Cole Layton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of Pheba Masonic Lodge #565 F.&A.M., Bill McKinson, Vern Fortner, Nurses and Staff of Gentiva Hospice, and Columbus Air Force Base R.N.
