Mr. Robert Erle Stafford

Mr. Robert Erle Stafford, 79, passed away on March 29, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Robert Erle was born August 13, 1935, in Clay County, the son of the late Henry Cleveland and Ellie Mae Shirley Stafford. He was an Inspector at Babcock and Wilcox, where he retired after 37 years. After retirement from Babcock and Wilcox, Mr. Robert Erle worked at Mitchell Automotive in West Point, where he and Mrs. Mary Edna helped deliver, shuttle, and transport cars. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Silver Thin Haired Men's Sunday School Class. He married Mary Edna Whitmire on April 8, 1962, in Choctaw County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Two Brothers: J.W. and Charles Stafford. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvary Baptist Church with the Dr. James Towery officiating, and assisted by Reverend Roy Myers. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife Mary Edna Stafford of West Point; Three Daughters, Anita Stafford Schoolar (Richie) of Pickensville, AL, Susan Stafford Mordecai (Jerrod) of Columbus, and Barbara Carol Blakeney (Mike) of Cedar Bluff; One Son, Russell Williams of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Six Grandchildren: Kyle and Max Schoolar, Cody and Matt Mordecai, Tara Dukes, and Misty Williams; One Sister, Mary Evelyn Johnson (Tony) of Savannah, GA. Pallbearers will be Mark Stafford, Cliff Stafford, Lewis Stafford, Steve Stafford, Larry Stafford, Dewey Cox, Kyle and Max Schoolar, and Cody and Matt Mordecai. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Silver Thin Haired Men’s Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church, Alan Greene, and the Employees of Mitchell Automotive in West Point. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home and from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in West Point.
