Mrs. Rubye Wray

Mrs. Rubye Wray, 81, passed away on September 9, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Rubye was born on January 16, 1944, in West Point, to the late Herbert and Annie Cecil Reid Barnes. Rubye was the proud owner and operator of "Did Someone Say Party", a business that allowed her to share her love of celebration, creativity, and good company. Whether she was preparing for a celebration or simply a homemade treat, she showed enthusiasm in her work. She spent her life bringing warmth and joy to those around her. She will be fondly remembered for her extraordinary generosity and her passion for feeding others. Her kitchen was always a place of comfort and delicious meals. When not in the kitchen, she enjoyed playing "Rook" with friends and trips to the beach. But most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Point where she served on the Activities and Fellowships Committee. She married Joe Wray on August 5, 1961, in West Point and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2021. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Melba Springer and Emma Kate Manning and three brothers, Herbert, John, and Floyd Barnes. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Inger Berger (Casey) of The Woodlands, Texas, two sons, Joseph L. Wray, Jr. of West Point and Heath Alan Wray (Keller) of Gluckstadt: eight grandchildren, Catherine Berger of St. Petersburg, Florida, Christian Berger of Dallas, Texas, Carson Berger of The Woodlands, Texas, Jackson Wray of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Katy-Keller Wray of Gluckstadt, Cassidy Wray of New York, New York, Cade Wray of Gluckstadt, and Malli Wray of Gluckstadt. Pallbearers will be Heath Wray, Joey Wray, Matthew Sears, Brad Pettit, Jeff Pate, Brad Burgess, and Mickey Burgess.
