Mr. Stan Rape

Mr. Stan Rape, 67, passed away on November 6, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Stan was born on January 20, 1956, in West Point, to Fairy Novaline Cash Jordan and the late John Rape. Stan worked in Maintenance at Bryan Foods in West Point for 33 years. He was a very avid and accomplished marksman and enjoyed his time shooting at the Starkville Gun Club. He enjoyed many aspects of music especially the piano, guitar, and harmonica. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and scuba diving. He enjoyed viewing the galaxy through the telescope. He enjoyed a part-time profession of beekeeping. Under his care, he was careful to ensure the well being and the productivity of the honeybees. He was affectionately known as "Stan the Man" to his family and many close friends at every encounter. He had a quiet smile and a contagious laugh. He always listened more than he spoke. He was a very wise person and always willing to help others. He spent his time assisting his disabled friends with grocery shopping and any errand. He was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church in West Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Chris Hunnicutt officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his mother, Fairy Novaline Jordan of West Point: two sisters, Gayla Johnson (Barry) of Cedar Bluff and Teresa Henley of West Point: one brother, Larry Rape of West Point: two nieces, Stephanie Green of Eupora and Leah Thomas of Houston: six nephews, Larry Rape, Jr (Lorie) of Algoma, Dale Henley (Samantha) of West Point, David Henley (Ashley) of West Point, John Rape (Laken) of Myrtle, Matthew Johnson (Reese) of Dothan, Alabama, and Nathan Rape of Houston and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews Honorary Pallbearers will be Former Co-Workers at Bryan Foods, Chad Scott, Terry Craig, and his many friends.
