Mr. William Boyd McKee

Mr. William McKee, 77, passed away on June 30, 2024, at his home in Pheba. William Boyd McKee was born on February 21, 1947, in Pheba, to the late James Terrell and Flora Mae McKee. He was a graduate of Clay High School in Montpelier. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a Long-Haul Truck Driver for Miller Transportation and was a self-employed Log Truck Driver. He enjoyed raising horses and any horse race. He was an avid Ole Miss sports fan. He loved all of his animals and history, but most importantly, he loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Mary Louise Murrah McKee on September 1, 1990, in Long Beach. He was a member of Pheba Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Lyndon Fisher, two sisters, Joyce Wright and Joan Douglas and a brother, Lloyd Ellis McKee. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services, with Military Honors, will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Taylor Champion officiating. A private family burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Maben. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Mary L. McKee of Pheba; his three daughters, Karmella McCallum (Rob) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Brandy Cruthirds (Paul) of Columbus, Melissa D. McKee of Arkansas, and a step-daughter, Linda Flemings (Jessie) of Eupora: three granddaughters, Maddie Claire McCallum of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Jessica Turcotte (Austin) of Madison, and Paige Upchurch (Chaffin) of Starkville: seven sisters, Virginia Vance of Pheba, Cynthia Crotts (Gary) of Pachuta, Shirley Long of Pheba, Rannie Gilliland (Joe) of Maben, Gola McMullen (Gwen) of Maben, Mary Kay White of Wiggins, and Margaret Sizemore of West Point: three brothers, James Claude McKee, Sr. (Dorothy), Floyd McKee (Betty), and Kenneth McKee (Lisa), all of Pheba: one sister-in-law, Minnie Worrells of Mathiston, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Chaffin Upchurch, Austin Turcotte, Rob McCallum, Paul Cruthirds, Casey Weeks, Todd Livingston, Landon Livingston, and Kevin McGinnis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Strickland, Charlie Dimino, Buddy McGee, Shank Phelps, Billy Hood, the Nurses and Staff of Fresenius Medical Care of West Point, his many friends at Pheba Baptist Church, and former co-workers at Miller Transportation.
