Mr. Artie Dee Ott

October 25, 1939 - February 27, 2015

CEDAR BLUFF - Artie Dee Ott, 75, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence. Artie Dee Ott was born October 25, 1939 in Monroe County to the late Lottie Adair and Willie Dee Ott. He served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis. He married Gwendolyn Golson Ott on August 27, 1960 in West Point. He attended the Cedar Bluff Methodist Church. He was a retired Equipment Operator with Pryor Construction. He loved his family, gardening work, NASCAR Racing and was a avid Mississippi State sports fan. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with the Rev. Raleigh Richter and assisted by Rev. Todd Chesser officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Bluff Presbyterian Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his wife Gwen Ott of Cedar Bluff; 1 daughter, Tammy White of Cedar Bluff; 2 Sons, Terry Ott of Tremont; and Greg Ott (Neely) of Mooreville; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 brother Robert Ott (Linda) of West Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: J.C., Doc, Pat and Doug. Pallbearers will be Waygner John, Roger Pryor, Larry Trulove, Steve Harpole, J.B. Kisner, Robert Harrell, Thompson Roberts, and Bill Cox. Honorary Pallbearers will be his Grandchildren and Great-grandchidren. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Bluff Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
