Mr. Billy Joe Dye, 63, passed away on December 29, 2014, at his residence in West Point. Mr. Billy Joe was born March 3, 1951, in West Point, the son of the late Hiram Hilliard "Pete" and Roe Alma Higginbotham Dye. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Forrestry. He was a Forrester with Seitz Lumber Company in West Point. He also owned and operated Wildland Timber Management. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. He married Viva Jo McDonald August 3, 1974, in DeKalb and she passed away October 9, 1995. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister: Bobbie Jean Redus. Memorial services will be December 31, 2014, at 6:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. James Towery officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Two Daughters, Elsie Dye of West Point and Molly Dye Plasters (Charlie) of Woodstock, AL; One Grandson: Elijah Plasters of Woodstock, AL; His Twin Sister: JoAnn Fox (Jim) of Starkville; His Father-in-law and Mother-in-Law: James & Daisy McDonald of DeKalb; Sister-in-Law: Lesa Tumey (Bobby) of West Point; Brother-in-Law: Leslie McDonald (Edith) of West Point; Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Harrison, Tony Parks, Dr. John Milam, All of his hunting and fishing friends, and all of his coffee drinking friends. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 8217, Jackson, MS 39284. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
