David Forrester

May 22, 2013

David Forrester, 83, passed away, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his home, in Pheba. Mr. David was born August 23, 1929, in Webster County, MS, in the Dancy Community, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Rosa Oletha Martin Forrester. He was a member of Pheba Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon. He retired as an "A" Fitter at Babcock and Wilcox Company in West Point after 30 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He married Helen June Scott on October 16, 1951, in Sparta, MS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Granddaughter: Melodie Millsaps and by a Brother: Billy Wayne Forrester. Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. from Pheba Baptist Church with the Reverend Terry Rhodes officiating, and assisted by Reverend Jimmy Walker. Burial will follow in Pheba Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Wife Helen Forrester of Pheba; three daughters, Debbie White (Runal) of Starkville, Linda Millsaps (Bryant) of Pheba, and Susan Schaffer (Kenneth) of New Madrid, Missouri; two sons, Kenneth "Buddy" Forrester (Connie) of Glenwood, Ark, and Ricky Forrester of Cedar Bluff; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Marcelle Blankenship (Jessie) and Joan White both of West Point; one brother, Glenn Allen Forrester (Sara Jo) of Pheba. Pallbearers will be Scott Schaffer, Kanon Forrester, Sam White, Jimmy Brand, Keith Blansett, and Ralph Brand. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy McGee, Dr. Andrew Wartak, Dr. John Cox, Nurses and Staff of Southern Care Hospice, and the Current and Former Deacons of Pheba Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Pheba Baptist Church, Post Office Box 5, Pheba, MS 39755 or to The Baptist Children's Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton MS 39060-0027. Visitation will be Friday 12:00-2:00 P.M. from Pheba Baptist Church.
