Mr. George Thomas "Tommy" Hill

August 31, 1956 - May 4, 2017

Mr. George Thomas “Tommy” Hill, age 60, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at his home in Montpelier. Tommy was born on August 31, 1956, in Houston, the son of John Alec and Mildred Sykes Hill. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received a Degree in Agriculture. He remained a huge fan of the Bulldogs. He spent most of his adult life owning and managing a dairy farm. He enjoyed hunting, working in his garden, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was of the Baptist faith. Tommy was preceded in death by his Father: John Alec Hill: his Paternal Grandparents: Joe and Lucy Hill and his Maternal Grandparents: Russell and Elizabeth Sykes. Graveside services will be Saturday, May, 6 2017, 2:30 P.M. from Amity Cemetery in the Sparta Community in Chickasaw County with Brother Eddie Brock officiating and assisted by Brother Lynn Hughes. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His daughter, Maggie Hill Wood (Craig) of Starkville; his mother, Mildred Hill of Montpelier: His four sisters, Libby Carnedy of Pontotoc, Lucy Brand (Wayne) of West Point, Kathy Bell (Ken) of Fulton, and Charlotte Hill of Pontotoc: His two brothers, John Hill, Jr. of Montpelier and Mike Hill (Michelle) of Houston: and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him. Pallbearers will be Jake Hill, Chuck Vale, Benny Borst, Paul Brand, Jeff Hill and Landon Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Original Dixie Hunting Club and Farmers of Clay County. Visitation will be Saturday, 10:00-1:00 at Calvert Funeral Home. Friends may leave an online condolence at www.calvertfuneralhome.com
