Mr. Harley Eugene May

May 3, 1934 - June 4, 2017

Mr. Eugene May, 83, passed away on June 4, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle in Columbus. Mr. Eugene, was born on May 3, 1934, in Calhoun County, the son of the late Ubes Pittman, Sr. and Alma Foster May. Mr. Eugene was a member of West End Baptist Church. Mr. Eugene worked as a "A" Layout and AutoCad Draftsman for Babcock and Wilcox for 41 years, having retired in 1996. Mr. Eugene married Betty Fulgham May on January 26, 1954 at West End Baptist Church in West Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Katherine Dill, Ophelia Young, and Mary Ellen Byrd and by 2 brothers: W.J. May and Cecil May. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, 10:30 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eddie Painter officiating and assisted by Reverend Chris Layton. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife: Betty May of West Point; His Three Daughters, Janet Parker (George) of West Point, Debbie Richards (Mark) of Millport, AL, and Judith Fuller (Rick) of West Point: His Son: David May of West Point, Six Grandchildren; Linnie Parker, Stephen Richards, Chase Richards, Jaimie May, Christpoher Triplett, and Braeden Triplett: Three Great-Grandchildren; Lindsay Skogen, Aaron Richards, and Will Richards and His Two Brothers, Ubes P. May, Jr. (Janice) and Adrian May (Pat), both of West Point. Pallbearers will be Mark Richards, Chase Richards, Stephen Richards, Christopher Triplett, Linnie Parker, George Parker, and Braeden Triplett. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Friends may leave an online condolence at www.calvertfuneralhome.com
