Mr. Henry Kirvin Stringer

Mr. Henry Kirvin Stringer, 97, passed away on May 24, 2015, at Vicker's Personal Care Home in Starkville. Mr. Stringer was born February 19, 1918, in Delhi, Oklahoma, the son of the late Herbert L. and Mary Mitchell Stringer. He was a Minister of the Gospel, having Pastored Baptist churches in Louisiana, South Dakota, Mississippi, and Colorado. In addition to Pastoring churches, he worked as a Consultant for A.B. Culbertson in Fort Worth, Texas, a firm specializing in church planning and construction. He enjoyed building houses and more especially, building churches. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Starkville. He was an avid fisherman, who loved not only to fish, but to cook fish and share with his family and friends. He was a United States Army/Air Force Veteran of World War II. He married Betty Butler Stringer on August 21, 1965, in Grand Island, Nebraska, and they would have been married for 50 years this August. Memorial Services will be Friday, May 29, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from First Baptist Church in Starkville with Reverend Clifton Curtis officiating.Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife Betty Butler Stringer of Starkville; Four Daughters, Kay Watson (Skip) of Denver, CO, Susan Heindrichs (Bob) of Austin, TX, Carol Stringer Roberson of Hereford, TX, and Stephanie Lain of Austin, TX; One Son, Hank Stringer (Liz) of Austin, TX; Five Grandchildren; Darla Vieira, Shane Winders, Ryman and Jack Stringer and Chuck Roberson; A Number of Great-Grandchidren; One Sister, Selma Woodring of Baton Rouge, LA; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.
