Mrs. Jessie L. Nolan

Mrs. Jessie Trusty Nolan, 79, passed away on August 5, 2023, at her residence in West Point. Mrs. Jessie was born April 2, 1944, in Texarkana, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Jessie Arnold and Syble Marie Williams Trusty. Mrs. Jessie, along with her husband Tom, teamed up as over-the-land truck drivers, a passion she loved and enjoyed. When at home, Mrs. Jessie enjoyed cooking large meals to serve her family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors, cutting the grass and tending to their cattle. She enjoyed attending the Free Praise & Worship Center in West Point. She married Thomas Austin Nolan on December 24, 1976, in West Point and he passed away on February 27, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jessie was preceded in death by three sisters: Nelda Kate, Frances Marie, and Margaret; and by two brothers: Clifton Ray and Melvin Eugene Trusty. A Celebration of Mrs. Jessie’s life will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Free Praise & Worship Center, 1174 Lone Oak Drive, West Point, Mississippi 39773 with Brother Wayne Mathis officiating. A private family burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point at a later date. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include her two daughters, Karen Martin (Jeff) of Calhoun, Georgia and Dena England (Dave) of Bluelake, California; one son, Tom Nolan, Jr. (Phyllis) of McKinleyville, California; seven grandchildren; R. J. Martin of White, Georgia, Jaime Holsonback (Zane) of Sugar Valley, Georgia, Wendy Daniels (Jason) of McKinleyville, California, Julie Hawkes (Kirby) of McKinleyville, California, Taylor LeBlanc (Eric) of Arcata, California, Thomas Nolan of McKinleyville, California, and Austin Nolan of McKinleyville, California; eight great grandchildren, Hayden Holsonback of Sugar Valley, Georgia, Aspen and Ace Martin, both of White, Georgia, Jaden and Jayce Daniels, Colton and Kenzie Hawkes, and Owen LeBlanc, all of McKinleyville, California; one sister, Theresa Foreman of Kansas; One brother, Travis Arnold Trusty (Judy) of Texarkana, Texas; Niece: Tammy Austad of Pompano Beach, Florida; Three Nephews: Jerry Lee Nolan and Jimmy Nolan (Angie), both of West Point and Jonathan Brewer (Angelina) of Beaumont, Texas; Special Great-Niece:Elizabeth Pennington (Zack) of West Point; and a large number of other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family. The family would like to sincerely extend their appreciation to Dr. Dwight McComb and the staff of the Amory Wound Care Center, Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice, and Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center both in West Point and Tupelo.
