Mrs. Maeford V. Logan Winter, 89, passed away on September 24, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on September 17, 1927, in Bruce to the late Warren and Bessie Sartin Logan. She was an avid and loving member of First Pentecostal Church in West Point. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She married David Levoy Winter on September 20, 1942, in Bruce. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter: Sharon Eaton; one sister: Carris Crocker; and three brothers: Willie Logan, Randle Logan, and Denzel Logan. Funeral services will be Monday, September 26, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. from First Pentecostal Church in West Point with the Reverend Stanley Blaylock officiating, and assisted by Reverend Mike McPherson. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her loving husband of 74 years: David Levoy Winter of West Point; Her four daughters: Joan Kyzar of Bogue Chitta, Dianne Fondren of Brooksville, Angela Holcombe (Jeff) of West Point, and Renee Benson (Terry) of West Point; her son, James Paul "J.P." Winter (Shirley) of West Point; Son-in-law: Eddie Eaton of Macon; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Britt, Karl Jernigan, Tommy Jernigan, Tucker Griggs, Hunter Griggs, and Austin King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Edmund Miller, the staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Staff, and the members of First Pentecostal Church in West Point.
