Mrs. Mamie Lou "Maw" Huffman

February 27, 1945 - October 23, 2018

Mrs. Mamie Lou "Maw" Huffman, 73, passed away on October 23, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Mamie, was born on February 27, 1945, in Chickasaw County, to Mary Frances Criddle Owens Pumphrey and the late Walter Everette Owens. She owned and operated Maw's Nursery. She was a member of Lawson Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed flower gardening, bells, hummingbirds, butterflies, and Atlanta Brave Baseball. She loved her family, She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married Robert Evans Huffman, Jr., on December 23, 1960 in Egypt and they were married for 57 years. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother: James Lee Owens. Funeral services will be Friday, October 26, 2018, at 3:30 P.M. from Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Una with Reverend Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Huffman, Jr. of West Point: her daughter, Sheila White Jinkins (Terry) of Pontotoc: her son, Daniel L. "Danny" Huffman (Melissa) of West Point: her honorary son: Jack Reed (Terri Lynn) of Columbus: seven grandchildren: Drew White (Amanda) of Saltillo, Austin White (Kimberly) of West Point, Heather Posey (Christopher) of Tupelo, Bre Copeland (Cayse) of Saltillo, Lee Huffman (Fiance' Kelly) of Montpelier, Claire Phillips (Zach) of Saltillo, and Cody Jinkins (Chey) of Pontotoc: eighteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild; her mother Mary Frances Owens Pumphrey of West Point: and a brother, Richard Owens (Mert) of Saltillo. Pallbearers will be Austin Warren, Daniel Fletcher, Christopher Posey, Cayse Copeland, Zach Phillips, Cody Jinkins, Glenn Hindman, Keith Hindman, and Wayne Hindman. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Dennis Moon, 2039 Brand-Una Road, Prairie, MS 39756 or to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Brenda Henley, 4420 Baker Road, Prairie, MS 39756. Visitation will be Friday, 2:00-3:30 P.M. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Una. Friends may leave an online condolence at www.calvertfuneralhome.com
