Mr. Mike Collums

Mr. Mike Collums, 54, passed away on February 21, 2017, in Van Vleet. Mike was born June 5, 1962, in West Point, the son of the late Windell Laverne and Norma Jolly Collums. Mike was an EMT Basic with MedStat Ambulance Service based in Chickasaw County. Mike served the EMS Community for 22 plus years. Mike also worked as the Safety Coordinator and working in Accounts Receivable for Orman’s Welding in West Point. Mike was a member of Vibrant Church in Columbus. Mike married Gwen Hill on April 24, 1994, in West Point. Mike’s two greatest passions in life were his grandsons and his work, Emergency Medical Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Father-In-Law: Duke Hill. Funeral services will be Friday, February 24, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Delgado officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife Gwen Collums of West Point; Three Sons, Brad Collums (Jeanine) of West Point, David Collums and Ray Collums, both of Cedar Bluff; Two Grandsons: Chandler and Payton Collums of West Point, his Sister, Jan Boyette of West Point; his Niece: Jennifer Ray of Jackson; Two Great-Nephews: Ryan and Brandon Vincent of Jackson; his Great-Niece: Hannah Landrum of Jackson; his Mother-In-Law: Mary Ruth Hill of Cedar Bluff and a number of other extended family. Pallbearers will be David Orman, Larry Fretz, Braxton Whitt, Will Foster, Mark Sawtelle, and Tommy Romans. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff and Employees of MedStat Ambulance Service and the Staff and Employees of Orman's Welding. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
