Dee L. Rhea, 87, passed away, on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the North MS Medical Center in West Point. Dee L. Rhea was born January 25, 1924 in Hickory Flat, Mississippi to the late Rosie May Ausburn and Thomas Jefferson Rhea and He worked in Maintenance for the TXI United Cement Company in Artesia, then after he retired he worked part time in Maintenance at NMMC-West Point. Mr. Rhea was a member of West Point Church of God. Dee L. Rhea married Frances Louise Smith on April 15, 1944, in Houston. Graveside Funeral services will be held in Macedonia Cemetery near Houston, Mississippi on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Al Stockton officiating. The family and friends will gather at the graveside from 10:45 a.m. until service time. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Louise Smith Rhea of West Point; two daughters, Donna Rhea Danford (Gary) of Houston, TX, Lynette Rhea McLaughlin (Greg) of Chattanooga, TN; three sons, Robert "Butch" Rhea (Glenda) of Columbus, Glen Rhea (Gail) of West Point, Doug Rhea (Beverly) of Cedar Bluff; ten grandchildren; Malinda Butler, Wayne Rhea, Shane Rhea, Jennifer Rhea Chaney, Nicole Rhea, Whitney Coleman, Crissy Furrow, Scott Killebrew, Jeremy Killebrew, and Garrett Danford; Six great grandchildren; Rob Griffin, Kaley Rhea, Hunter Killebrew, Jackson Killebrew, Smith Chaney and Sally Rhea Chaney; a niece, Alice Faye Griffin, and nephew Skinny Rhea. His brother, T. J. Rhea, preceded him in death. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Wayne Rhea, Shane Rhea, Scott Killebrew, Jeremy Killebrew, Rob Griffin, Jeffery Chaney, Justin Furrow, and Garrett Danford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Louise Elmore, members of the Church of God, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., the Staff of North MS Medical Center-West Point. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Cemetery Fund, c/o Billy P. Griffin, 303 CR 166, Houston, MS 38851. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
