Mr. C. Wolanek

Glenn C. Wolanek, 81, passed away, on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Sanctuary Hospice House, in Tupelo. Glenn Charles Wolanek was born January 14, 1932, in Ashland, Wisconsin, the son of the late George and Julia Marie Johnson Wolanek. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in West Point. Mr. Wolanek was a retired Data Processing Manager with Blazon Flexible Flyer in West Point and was an avid woodworker. He married Ellen Gail Smith Wolanek on September 1, 1956, in Ashland, Wisconsin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Glenn Charles Wolanek, Jr. and by a brother, Douglas Wolanek. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife Gail Wolanek; one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Weems (Charlie); three sons, George Scott Wolanek (Jeneieve) all of West Point, Michael David Wolanek (April) of Arlington, WA, Gary Alan Wolanek (Stacey) of Auburn, AL; 12 grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Julie Goodwill of Erie, PA, Judy Larson (Dale) of Ashland, WI. Pallbearers will be Mike Wolanek, Gary Wolanek, Caleb Wolanek, Charlie Weems, Jamie Peeples and Don Keltner. Honorary Pallbearers are the Doctors and Staff of Cardiac Rehab in West Point, Rush Foundation Specialty Hospital of Meridian, Sanctuary Hospice of Tupelo, Charles, Elliott, Jr., Phillip Dimino, John Paul Dimino, Nick Dimino and Phillip Dimino, Jr. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 293, West Point, MS 39773 or to the donor's choice. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
