Mr. James R. "Jim" Jolly, 41, passed away on April 21, 2014, at his residence in West Point. Jim was born August 24, 1972, in West Point, the son of the late James Edward and Adron Lou Hollingsworth Jolly. Jim moved to Texas in 1982 and was saved in 1992 and became a youth pastor and evangelist around North Texas, ultimately leading hundreds to Jesus Christ before returning to West Point in 2013 to help care for his aging Grandmother. Jim was an outdoors writer for the Lake Cities Sun Newspaper and was the founder and Managing Editor of Splash Magazine. He was the original founder and Vice-President of North Texas Whitetails Unlimited. He was on the Pro-Staff of Southern Deer Blinds, as well as Hidden Antler Camoflage of Texas. He also fished Semi-Pro Bass Tournaments with his Brother. Jim was a Part-time hunting and fishing guide and managed hunting properties across Texas. Jim sat on the Patient Advisory Board of Lewisville, TX H.C.A. Hospital and on the Board of the National Foundation for the Treatment of Pain, where he worked closely with the late Dr. Joel Hochman to advocate better pain care for others. Jim was a true friend to others and was his Brothers best friend. Jim was also a 2009 Graduate of Texas A.&M.'s Master Naturalist program. Memorial Services will be April 28, 2014, at 6:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend R.C. Bryan officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his Daughter: Jaiden Hope Jolly of Denton County, TX; One Brother, Jeff Jolly of West Point; Maternal Grandmother: Allie Hollingsworth Reid of West Point; Aunts: Ruth Ann Self of Atlanta, GA, Jimmie Hollingsworth of West Point, Sara Ingram (Floyd Ingram, III) of Houston, and Judy Coleman (Billy) of Houston; Uncle: Bro. Jack Hollingsworth (Sally) of Panama City Beach, FL, and numerous Cousins Memorials may be made to Passionate Pursuit Ministries, 7650 Old Highway 10, West Point, MS 39773. Visitation will be Monday 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
