Mr. "Randy" Phillips

James Randolph Phillips, 56, passed away, on October 1, 2013, at his home in Starkville. He was born February 6, 1957, in Fort Dix, NJ, to Ivy Georgia Russell and John Charles Phillips, Sr.. He was a minister of the Gospel of Christ, who's life was devoted to proclaiming Jesus' words:"I am the way the Truth, and the Life," and "I am the resurrection and the Life, he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." He married Maureen Loftus Phillips on May 18, 1980, in Starkville. Funeral services will be October 5, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Starkville with Lt. Col. Phil Stoll officiating and his sons and son-in-law will deliver the eulogy. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife Maureen Loftus Phillips of Starkville; His four daughters, Julie Woodall (Lee) of West Point, Joy Phillips, Joanna Phillips, and Jorja Phillips all of Starkville. His nine sons, James Phillips (Lauren) of Webster County, Jacob Phillips (Mary Elizabeth) of Jackson, TN, Jonathan Phillips of Alexandria, VA, Jesse Phillips (Lexie), Josiah Phillips, Joseph Phillips, Joshua Phillips, JohnDavid Phillips, and Joel Phillips all of Starkville; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Jennifer Blackwolf (Damion) of Hertford, NC; one brother, Johnny Phillips (Anita) of Corpus Christi, TX. Parents: Mr. and Mrs. John C. Phillips of Hertford, NC. Pallbearers will be His Sons: James Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Jonathan Phillips, Jesse Phillips, Josiah Phillips, Joseph Phillips, Joshua Phillips, JohnDavid Phillips, Joel Phillips and Son-in-Law: Lee Woodall. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his Sons in the Faith. Memorials may be made to Fellowship of Jesus Christ Bible Society, 3367 Count Rd. 21, Gordo, AL 35466. Visitation will be Saturday 12:00-2:00 with services immediately following at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Starkville.
