Mr. "Bud" Cartee

Cedar Bluff, Mississippi - James T. "Bud" Cartee, 72, passed away, on June 12, 2012 at his home, in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi. James T. Cartee was born June 1, 1940 in Clay County, in the Cairo Community to the late Carrie Lee Blake Cartee and Walter Lee Cartee and James T. "Bud" Cartee was Retired from West Point Fire Department with 25 years service. James T. "Bud" Cartee was a member of Enon Baptist Church. James T. "Bud" Cartee married Marjorie Lee Irby Cartee May 29, 1970, in West Point. Funeral services will be Friday, June 15, 2012, 3:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Donald Pounders officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery in Clay County. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include wife, Marjorie Irby Cartee of Cedar Bluff; his daughter, Susan Denise Martin of Columbus; three grandchildren, James Douglas Martin, Sierra Martin, and Jonathan Martin; three sisters, Shirley Miller of West Point, Barbara Harmon (Bobby) of Cedar Bluff, Bonnie Benson (Jimmy) of West Point. Those preceding James T. "Bud" Cartee in death were sisters, Sarah Davis and Annie Pearl Cartee. Pallbearers will be Robert Miller, Terry Benson, Allen Harmon, Blake Miller, Will Miller, and Ronnie Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chief Caradine Young, Kenny Dill, Former co-Workers at West Point Fire Department, his Church Family at Enon Baptist Church, and his friends in the community. Memorials may be made to Cairo Cemetery Care Fund, c/o Judy Chrismond, 3836 Hwy 50 West, West Point, MS 39773. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
