Russell C. Robison, 79, passed away, on March 14, 2012 at the North Mississippi Medical Center, in West Point. Russell Charles Robison was born October 18, 1932 in Sulligent, Alabama to the late Mildred Lee Humphries and Tommy Lee Robison and was a Supervisor at Blazon Flexible Flyer and the Simmons Company in Munster, IN. Mr. Robison was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served during Korean War. He was married to Mary Evelyn Wooldridge Robison August 27, 1951, in Aberdeen. Mr. Robison was a Lifetime Member of American Legion Post #180 in Highland, Indiana where he had served as Post Commander and was active in the Color Guard. He was instrumental in carrying the American Flag to the Monument erected at the intersection of Hwy's #41 and #6 in Highland, known as the "Highway of Flags". During his time of membership, Russell visited the Veteran's Hospital in Chicago and Indianapolis on a quarterly basis. Funeral services will be Friday, March 16, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Dr. James Towery officiating, assisted by Bro. Roy Myers. The Family will gather at the funeral home and go in procession for the church service. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Garden Cemetery, West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Wife Mary Evelyn Wooldridge Robison of West Point; his two daughters, Mary Ann Robison Wilson of Amory, and Marilyn Diane Armstrong (Bob) of Charlotte, NC, and his son, James Russell Robison (Damorrow) of Okolona, MS; Five Grandchildren; Robert Armstrong, Matthew Robison, Elizabeth Robison, Jackson Robison, and Andrew Robison; Great Granddaughter, and Camryn Armstrong. Those preceding him in death were son-in-law, Jack Wilson, sister, Pansy Hinton and brother Clinton Burton Robison. Pallbearers will be Ricky Cole, Andy White, Byron Acker, Keith McBrayer, Jim Ellis and Charlie Stokes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of his Sunday School Class, and church family, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Dr. Richard Hendricks and Richard Braman. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 460 McCord Street, West Point, MS 39773 or to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Millbrook Road, Wilton, NH 03086. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
