Barbara Kyte Harrell, 81, passed away, on Sunday, September 29. 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-East, in Memphis, TN. Barbara was born August 17, 1932 in Knoxville Tennessee to the late Gladys Basinger and Billy Kyte. She was a Florist, and was a manager for Sears Roebuck for 17 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was avid Sunday School teacher for 15 years. she loved to shop. She loved and breathed her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they arrived and surrounded her, it never failed to bring a smile to her face. She married Clarence Harrell on December 24, 1949; in Knoxville, Tennessee, he preceded her in death on August 29, 2010 Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Knoxville, Tennessee. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Harrell Turner (Mark) of Starkville, Patty Hare (Michael) of Fulton, a special family friend: Sandy Henley (Tommy) of West Point; four grandchildren; Christie Sims (Alex), Marc Weaver (Davlynn), Mark Turner, Jr. and Leslie Scott (Stephen); ten great grandchildren; Chris Garner, Alexis Weaver, Trista Weaver, Kaitlyn Weaver, Blake Meeks, Savanah Meeks, Hunter Meeks, Abby Scott, Sarah Scott, and Lauren Scott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Turner, Tommy Henley, Marc Weaver, Chris Garner, Michael Hare, Mark Turner, Jr., Alex Sims, Stephen Scott. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 293, West Point, MS 39773. Visitation will be Tuesday, 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.
