Connie Maxey Smith, 60, passed away, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Connie was born June 9, 1953, in Crawford the daughter of the late: James Weaver and Vivian Marie Hunter Maxey. She was a member of Artesia Baptist Church. She was a retired welder, retiring from Babcock & Wilcox in West Point after 15 years. She married Elmer Lee "Smitty" Smith on December 24, 1983, in Georgetown, SC. Visitation will be Friday 6:30-8:30 P.M. at Artesia Baptist Church with Calvert Funeral Home of West Point in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Husband: Elmer L. "Smitty" Smith and Daughter Michelle Leigh Smith both of Crawford; Two Sisters, Dianne Durham (Turkey) of Brooksville and Kay Fortner (Tim) of Millport, AL; Two Brothers, Jimmie Carroll (Margit) of Panama City, FL, and William Maxey (Lisa) of Millport, AL. Memorials may be made to Brooksville Cemetery Fund, C/O Mrs. Melanie Hines, 586 Hines Road, Brooksville, MS 39739
