Mrs. McDougal Watson

Evie Watson, age 104 passed away at her home. Mrs. Watson was born on February 28, 1909 to the late Hattie Ophelia Murphy McDougal and Edward Monroe McDougal in Cedar Bluff, MS. She was a homemaker and member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She married Oscar Lee Watson July 3, 1926 and were united for 66 years until his death July 17, 1992. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Samuel Burns officiating, assisted by Brother Todd Chesser. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Cedar Bluff, Mississippi. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by two sons: Oliver Lee Watson of West Point MS, and Thomas E.(Buddy) Watson (lness) of Baton Rouge, LA; one daughter Nell Valentine and one daughter in law Mrs. Shirley Watson both of West Point. Six grandchildren: Glenda Dedeaux, Debbie Ingram (Kenny), Gene Allen Sanders (Kerry), Lisa Randle (Mark) all of West Point. Chris Watson (Peggy) Baton Rouge, LA and Shirley Carr (Jimmy) of Clinton, MS. Eight great grandchildren: Gina Reed (Tommy) of Starkville, MS. Jason Ingram (Rae Anne), Kevin Ingram, Shane Sanders, Dustin Randle all of West Point. Shawn Sanders (Deanie) of Clinton, Ms. Matt Carr of Baton Rouge, LA, Kristin Randle of Nashville, TN and Leslie and Khristy Watson of Baton Rouge, LA; Three great-great grandchildren: Lane and Luke Reed of Starkville, MS and Jackson Watson of Baton Rouge, LA Mrs. Watson is preceded in death by two sons: Charles Watson and James E. Watson of West Point, MS. One daughter Helen Watson of West Point and great granddaughter Ginger Bryan of West Point, Ms. Eight sisters: Lucille Wright, Marie Henley, Jessie Lee Jones, Annie Hamby, Bessie Seymore, Willie Mae Waldrep, Minnie Woolbright and Ruth Blakeney. Two brothers: Edward McDougal and Jodie McDougal. Pallbearers are: Mark Randle, Kenny Ingram, Chris Watson, Gene Allen Sanders, Jimmy Carr and Gary Dedeaux. Memorials may be made to Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, c/o Anna Sims, Henryville Road, Cedar Bluff, MS 39741 or to Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church, 1118 West Loop Drive, West Point, MS 39773 or to Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, P. O. Box 65, Cedar Bluff, MS 39741 Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
