Jessie Mae Hardy, 84, passed away, Monday, October 3, 2011 North MS Medical Center in West Point. Jessie Mae Hardy was born December 11, 1926 in Carrollton, Pickens County Alabama to the late Jeddie Cook Wilson and Troy Wilson. She was a Seamstress working in manufacturing and later did alterations for B & S Laundry and of the Baptist Faith. Jessie Mae Hardy was married to John Edwin Hardy, who preceded her in death on October 24, 1990. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Pee (Jimmy) of West Point; three sons, Paul Waits (Priscilla) of Columbus, James Thomas Waits of Elberton, GA, and Robert "Bob" Hardy (Myra) of Tupelo; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter great-great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Strub (Mike) of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers, Robbie Wilson (Janina), and James Troy Wilson (Nina) all of Columbus. Those preceding in death were her brother, Talmadge Wilson, and daughter in law Sheila Diane Harden Waits. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Pee, Jr., Patrick Waits, John Allen Waits, Paul Waits, Jr., William Haughton, and Mark Glasson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Andrew Wartak, Jay Montgomery, and her friends at the Henry Clay Retirement Community. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, MidSouth Chapter, 4219 Hillsboro Road, Suite 306, Nashville, TN 37215. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
