Mrs. Christine Towery

Mrs. Mary Christine Towery, 92, passed away on April 4, 2014, at St. Vincent St. Clair Medical Center in Pell City, Alabama. Mrs. Towery was born May 27, 1921, in Webster County the daughter of the late: John Louise and Elizabeth Sanderson Burton, Sr. She was a member of the Old Aberdeen Road Church of God. She was a retired Utility Worker at Knickerbock and Big Yank Manufacturing in West Point. She married Connie L. Towery June 8, 1963, in West Point and he passed away in September 1967. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Great Granddaughter: Audrey Portera; Two Sisters: Bernice O'Brian and Nell Baswell; Brother: John Louis Burton, Jr.; and Daughter-in-Law: Susan Ray. Funeral services will be April 6, 2014, at 3:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister Al Stockton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Two Daughters, Helen Murray (Willie) of Kimberling City, MO, and Rachel Williams (Randy) of Pell City, AL; One Son, Paul Ray of West Point; Eight Grandchildren; Thirteen Great Grandchildren; and Four Great-Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Murray, Mark Murray, Andy Portera, Matt Bryan, Jimmy Hargrove, and Josh Gibbons. Memorials may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00-3:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
