Mrs. Myra May

Mrs. Myra May, 62, passed away on September 6, 2019, near Columbus. Mrs. Myra was born April 3, 1957, in Starkville, the daughter of the late Thomas Marlin and Lois E. Fairley Germany. Myra graduated from Mississippi State University with her Master's Degree in Accounting. She was an accountant with Royal Trucking in West Point for a number of years. She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Myra was known to have a servant's heart. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Starkville. She married Keith May on June 28, 1975, in West Point and they were married for 44 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents, Myra was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather May Catchings. A Celebration of Myra’s life will be held Monday, September 9, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clifton Curtis officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include Her Husband of 44 years, Keith May of Starkville; two daughters, Lisa Read (Josh) of Columbus and Brittany Mayo (Ethan) of Rock Hill, SC; two Grandchildren: Hadley and Lexi Read both of Columbus and 1 Step-Grandson: Ian Catchings of Houston, TX; Son-in-Law: Kelby Catchings of Houston, TX; one Sister, Laura Germany Molnar (Henry) of Madison, AL; one Brother, Thomas Kirt Germany (Nancy) of Gulfport; Her Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law: Ubes P. May, Jr.and Janice Thomas May of West Point; and her Sister-in-Law: Kathy Marshall (Jim) of West Point. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Billy Milican and Employees of Royal Trucking in West Point and her many friends at First Baptist Church in Starkville.
