Mr. Odis Gammill Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Odis E. Gammill, 91, passed away on April 6, 2017 at Waverly Care Home in West Point. Mr. Odis E. Gammill was born on December 15, 1925, in Mathiston, the son of the late William Edgar and Susie Palmer Gammill. Mr. Gammill was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point, where he was a member of the Bible Learners Sunday School Class. Mr. Gammill was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he served for 31 years. Mr. Gammill served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Finn Gammill, his second wife, Johnnie Mae Smith Gammill, two sisters: Gretchen Godfrey and Genetha Grace and two brothers: Mack and Orben Gammill. Visitation will be Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. with Funeral services to follow at 3:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Dale Funderburg officiating and assisted by Brother C.J. Moore. Burial will follow in Clarkson Cemetery in Clarkson. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Two Sisters, Ina Pearl Williams of Wilmer, AL, and Vivian Catherine Burns (Davis) of Fayette, AL, and Brother, Lynn Gammill (Connie) of Cedar Bluff. Pallbearers will be Gary Gammill and Deacons of First Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Bible Learners Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
