Mr. Robert Hunt Hannah

July 19, 1932 - September 16, 2014

Mr. Robert Hunt Hannah, 82, passed away on September 16, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mr. Robert was born July 19, 1932, in Tupelo the son of the late Roscoe Sigmond and Mary Madgelene Ramsey Hannah. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast that enjoyed riding and admiring other Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles. He married Dorothy Harris Hannah on April 1, 1960, in West Point. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Sister: Myra Horton, and Four Brothers: Murrel M. Hannah, Billy R. Hannah, Willis C. Hannah, and Richard A. Hannah; and Brother-in-Law: Carl Harris. Funeral services will be September 20, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend R. C. Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Wife Dorothy L. Hannah of West Point; Two Sons, Wayne Hannah (Brenda) of Claremont, N.H., and Doug Hannah (Resa) of West Point; Three Grandchildren: Jayson Hannah (Kerri), Brandon Hannah, and Jay DeVost (Angela); One Great Grandson: Gabryiel "Bean" Hannah; One Sister, Patricia Jones (Peck) of Eupora; Special Niece: Mary Lou O'Risky (Mike) of Evansville, Indiana and Numerous other Nieces and Nephews; Brother-in-Law: Alvin Harris (Dot) of Columbus; Sister-in-Law: Shirley Burgess of Maben. Pallbearers will be Jayson Hannah, Brandon Hannah, Stephen Harris, Jasper Lummus, Donnie Collier, and Rob McReynolds. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Dodson, Elvis Strickland, Timmy Williams, Peck Jones, Donald Horton, Charlie Hannah, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., Paramedics of North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point, and the Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Home Health Care. Memorials may be made to West Point/Clay County Animal Shelter, 1212 Old Tibbee Road, West Point, MS 39773 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Visitation will be Friday 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
