Mr. Robert Allen Snow Jr.

Mr. Robert Allen Snow, Jr., 91, passed away on March 26, 2017, at his daughter’s home near West Point. Mr. Robert was born on November 25, 1925, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Robert Allen and Sarah Anne Eva Moody Snow, Sr. Mr. Robert was a longstanding member of Stallo Methodist Church in Stallo. Mr. Robert was the CEO of Waverley Mansion located near West Point. Mr. Robert was a member of Sigma Phi Eplison Fraternity at The University of Alabama. Mr. Robert was a Recepient of the National Historic Landmark and National Register of Historic Places. Mr. Robert won numerous local and national Restoration Awards. Recently the Mississippi Senate passed a resolution honoring the legacy of the Robert and Madonna Snow Family as Pioneers in Historic Preservation in Mississippi. Mr. Robert married Madonna Guthrie Snow on December 18, 1950, in Tucker and she preceded him in death on December 20, 1991. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Wayne Decker, Jr. and a brother, Kenneth Snow. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at his beloved Waverley Mansion with Reverend Anne Harris officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 4:00 P.M. from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Tucker. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Melanie Snow of West Point and Cindy Snow Henson (Ronnie) of Columbus; two sons, Allen Snow (Elin) and Gage Snow, both of West Point; four grandchildren; Shannon Blackwell (Deanna) of Starkville, Melanie Monoghan (Mark) of Southaven, Summer Atkinson of Waynesboro and Michael Hattaway of Hernando; seven great-grandchildren; Cody Blackwell of Starkville, Savannah Blackwell of Starkville, Ben Blackwell of Madison, Maggie Snow Monoghan of Southaven, Milla Monaghan of Southaven, Kadence Henson of Waynesboro and Sophie Atkinson of Waynesboro; and one sister, Maureen Jackson of Meridian. Pallbearers will be Shannon Blackwell, Cody Blackwell, Mark Monaghan, Jimmy Denning, Ronnie Henson, and Donnie Henson. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, P.O.
