Mrs. Sandra Peacock Thompson

August 8, 1950 - May 6, 2018

Mrs. Sandra Peacock Thompson, 67, passed away on May 6, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Sandra was born on August 8, 1950, in Webster County, the daughter of the late Thomas Hugh and Mary Madena Brooks Peacock. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed reading, painting, and wood crafts. She was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She married Ernest Howard Thompson on July 14, 1971 in West Point. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Diane Blaylock and Sherry Anderson, a brother: Bill Peacock and her step-mother: Ruth Peacock. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Sallee officiating. Burial will follow in McPherson Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Freeman (Tommy) of Mooreville; four sons, Kim Thompson (Eileen) of West Point, Tim Thompson (Paula) of Strong, Dan Harris (April) of Montpelier, and David Thompson (Karen) of West Point; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Brooks Peacock (Bobbie Jo) of Mathiston and two sisters-in-law: Corrine Peacock of Mathiston and Sandy Thompson of Dacula, GA. Pallbearers will be David Thompson, Kim Thompson, Dan Harris, Tommy Freeman, Paul Ray, Mitchell Thompson, and Tim Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nurses and Staff of Sanctuary Hospice House, Friends at West End Baptist Church, Tim Thompson, Joe Peacock, and Jerry Pollard. Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 West Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
