Mrs. Sara Smith Huffman

January 20, 1928 - December 13, 2014

Mrs. Sara Smith Huffman, 86, passed away on December 13, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. Mrs. Sara was born January 20, 1928, in Tippah County the daugther of the late Henry Clay and Alberta Beatrice Caviness Smith. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She worked at Blazon Flexible Flyer in West Point. She was also a member of the Martha Chapter # 53 Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her family dearly. She married James Richard Huffman on June 22, 1946, in Aberdeen and he passed away March 25, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Son: Jimmy Dean Huffman; Daughter: Diann Huffman Sevier, and by 2 Sisters: Mary Lois Smith Davis and Gracie Lee Smith Brooks. Funeral services will be December 15, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. from the Graveside in McCondy Cemetery near Prairie with Dr. John Shields officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include One Grandson: Jay Sevier of Columbus and Two Granddaughters: Mary Guin of Columbus and Melinda Sevier of Artesia; One Brother, Wade Smith of Kennedy, AL; Special Niece: Nell Hawkins (Noal) of Amory; and a host of other Nieces and Nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, John Sevier, Jimmy Crowson, Larry Smith, and James Evans. Visitation will be Monday 12:00-1:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
