Mrs. Susan C. Weed

May 21, 1955 - April 3, 2019

Mrs. Susan C. Weed, 63, passed away on April 3, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Susan was born on May 21, 1955, in Houston, the daughter of the late Joseph Alex and Bessie Mae Doss Swindle. Susan worked as Line Worker at Pep Industries in Houston for 20 years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church near Houston. She loved her church and attending activities, such as Vacation Bible School. She loved riding horses and enjoyed fishing. She enjoyed taking care of other people, always putting others before herself. She was a loving, wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She married Melvin Ray Weed on May 21, 1976 in Mantee. They were married for 42 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: William Alex Swindle, sister-in-law: Bobbie Ann Weed and three brothers-in-law: Tony "Pop", James "Jabo", and Donald Avery Weed. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church near Houston with Brother Bobby Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include her husband Melvin R. Weed of Prairie: one son, Timothy Ray Weed of Prairie: two sisters: Mary Ann Smith (James) of Mathiston and Dorothy Faye Triplett of Mantee: four sisters-in-law: Penny McKeller (Allen), Linda Wilson (Bobby), Cheryl Weed and Kay Howard (Reed), all of Prairie: three brothers-in-law: Carl Lee Weed (Lisa) of Prairie, John Wayne Weed (Geraldine) of Dallas, Texas, and William Theo Weed of Dallas, Texas, and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Dustin Weed, Scott Howard, Daniel Smith, Jason Smith, Kelly Weed, J. R. McElhenney, and Billy Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point and Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. Visitation will be Friday 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church near Houston. Friends may leave an online condolence at www.calvertfuneralhome.com
