Mr. Thomas Edward "Buddy" Watson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas Edward "Buddy" Watson, 88, passed away on December 4, 2019 at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Buddy was born on August 29, 1931, in Cedar Bluff, to the late Oscar Lee and Evie Ophelia McDougal Watson. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the 54th Transportation Division during the Korean War. He worked for the Wholesale Specialty Company for 30 years. After his retirement, he started his own business, Buddy's Wholesale Company, that was in operation for 15 years. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with his extended family. He was a member of Goodwood Boulevard Church of Christ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He married Iness Weathers Watson on April 2, 1955 in West Point. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2013. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: two sisters: Helen Watson and Nell Valentine and two brothers: Charles and James Watson. Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 7, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raleigh Richter officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his son, Christopher Edward Watson (Peggy) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana: two grandchildren; Leslie M. Watson and Kristy L. Watson: three great- grandchildren; Jackson Christopher Watson, Addison Elizabeth Watson, and Preston Michael Watson: a brother, Oliver Watson of West Point and a host of extended family. Pallbearers will be Christopher Watson, Kenny Ingram, Mark Randle, Gene Allen Sanders, Jason Ingram, and Dustin Randle.
