Mrs. Thomasine Miller Blankenship

November 2, 1927 - August 15, 2015

Mrs. Thomasine Miller Blankenship, 87, passed away on August 15, 2015, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, TX. Mrs. Thomasine was born November 2, 1927, in West Point the daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin and Ethel Marvin Erwin Miller, Jr. She graduated from West Point High School. While at West Point High School, she was a Basketball Star that was named to the All Little Ten. She was also crowned Miss West Point High School and was a cheerleader. After graduation from West Point High School, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was raised in First United Methodist Church in West Point and was later a Charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Tupelo. She was a homemaker and loved playing golf. In her later years and after moving from West Point to Plano, Texas, she enjoyed communicating and reuniting with her family and friends through Facebook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Brother Benjamin Erwin Miller. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Pam Minx of Plano, TX; her son, Jimmy Blankenship (Regina) of Amory; Four Grandchildren: Angela Mazzei (Brian) of Allen, TX, James Wigginton of Plano, TX, J.J. Blankenship (Macy) of Lampasas, TX, and Glen Blankenship (Teresa) of Gordon, TX; Four Great Grandchildren; Bree Mazzei, Cora Wigginton, Haley Alda Wigginton, and Kirby Blankenship; her Sister, Ann Ross (Jim) of West Point and her Special Canine Companion: Babette. Pallbearers will be Brian Mazzei, Steve Cork, Cade Cork, Benjamin Ross, J.J. Blankenship, Glen Blankenship, and James Wigginton. Visitation will be Tuesday 9:00-11:00 A.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
