Mr. Wayne Watson

October 14, 1947 - February 25, 2017

Mr. Wayne Watson, 69, passed away on February 25, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle in Columbus. Wayne was born Ocotber 14, 1947, in Clay County, the son of the late Lloyd P. and Virgie Mae Harmon Watson. Wayne was a Log Truck Driver for Link Nason Logging in Maben for 27 years. Wayne was a longtime truck driver with the CB handle “Gambler.” Wayne loved watching westerns on TV and enjoyed watching wrestling. Wayne married Malisa Ann Bowie on May 12, 1984 in West Point and she preceded him in death on July 7, 2007. Memorial Services will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Sallee officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Son, Shea Watson of West Point; His Step-Daughter, Cristy Stuart of Columbus; His Three sisters, Barbara Nell Watson Blansett of Pheba, Patricia Ann Watson Childs (Butch) of Cedar Bluff, and Brenda Kay Cliett (Paul Clardy) of Montpelier; His Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law: Wayne and Pat Bowie of West Point and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015-1942 or to Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, C/O Anna Sims, 703 Henryville Road, Cedar Bluff, MS 39741. Visitation will be Wednesday, 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Friends may leave an online condolence at www.calvertfuneralhome.com
