Mr. William "Bud-Sweet Pea" Edward Thompson

Mr. William Edward "Bud-Sweet Pea" Thompson, 81, passed away on April 23, 2017, at his home near Montpelier. Mr. William Edward "Bud-Sweet Pea" Thompson was born June 28, 1935, in Montpelier, the son of the late Jim Webber and Frances Inez Goode Thompson. He was a 1954 Graduate of Clay High School in Montpelier. Mr. Thompson owned and operated Bud Thompson Steel Erectors for a number of years. He enjoyed working with iron. He was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding his horse "Big Red." He married Norma Brady Thompson on December 5, 1968, in Pineville, LA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Frances Hill and by his Brother-in-Law: Sam Hollingsworth. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. from Palestine United Methodist Church near Montpelier with Reverend Eddie Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine United Methodist Church Cemetery near Montpelier. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Wife Norma B. Thompson of Montpelier; One Daughter, Tammie Doler (Wayne) of Calhoun City; Three Sons, Keith Thompson (Bonnie) of Montpelier, Matt Thompson (Liz) of West Point, and Tim Thompson (Emily) of Montpelier; Twelve Grandchildren: Bridget Shows (Murray) of Montpelier, Jordan Bruce Thompson (Anna) of West Point, Chase Thompson, Madison Thompson, Dillon Thompson, Montana Thompson, Micah Thompson all of Montpelier, Devin Thompson, Will Robertson both of Houston, John Robertson of Calhoun City, Ethan Bryan and Dylan Bryan both of West Point; Five Great Grandchildren: Coleman Shows, Jase Shows, Mattox Ruth Shows all of Montpelier, Mason Thompson of Aberdeen, and Braxton Liam Mathis of Montpelier; Two Sisters, Pat May (Adron) and Jimmie Hollingsworth both of West Point; and Brother-in-Law: Gert Hill of West Point. Pallbearers will be His Grandsons: Jordan Bruce Thompson, Chase Thompson, Dillon Thompson, Will Robertson, John Robertson, Ethan Bryan, and Dylan Bryan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Thompson, Bill Sims, Roger Coleman, Bennie Clark, Craig Pepper, Mike Shinn, Benny Borst, Alan Grimes, Nurses and Staff Sanctuary Home Hospice, and the Nurses and Staff Sanctuary Hospice House.
