Mr. William Frank Wilson, Sr.

Mr. William "Frank" Wilson, Sr., 69, passed away on October 29, 2018 at his home in Cedar Bluff. Frank, as he was affectionately called, was an United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War where he was an overland truck driver. After having served his country, Frank came home and went to work driving a truck for several local companies including Bryan Foods, Prairie Livestock Incorporated, Garan, Gulf States, Howard Furniture, and Chem Waste. He finished his career driving a truck for Clay County District 5. Frank was known by many as the "Mayor" of Waddell and was a known prankster that enjoyed a good prank. He thoroughly enjoyed to buy, sale, and trade. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He married Della Blair on March 17, 2003, in Oktibbeha County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Linda Dowdle Wilson and a brother-in-law: Mike Hicks. Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Vaughn Winslett officiating and assisted by Elder Chris Hollingsworth and Elder Tim Cunningham. Burial with United States Army Honors will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his wife Della Blair Wilson of Cedar Bluff; one daughter, Sandy Wilson Mayes (Frank) of Wetumpka, AL, one son, William Frank Wilson, Jr. of Midland, TX; step-daughter: Victoria Paige Hill of Houston, TX; adopted daughter, Heather Hewett (Nate) of Columbus: three sisters, Mazie Wilson Moreland (Hugh) of Starkville, Nancy Wilson Hicks of Olive Branch, and Sally Wilson Bell (Danny) of Cedar Bluff; mother-in-law: Dale Blair Haggard of West Point; two sisters-in-law: Anne Blair Richardson of West Point and Betty Lynn Freeman (Casey) of Columbus; two brothers-in-law: Allen Blair (Etta) of Petal and Aubrey Blair (Donna) of Cedar Bluff. Pallbearers will be Stan Moreland, Casey Blair, John Bell, Kale Terry, Mike Blakeney, Preston Coates, Blake Kimbrough, Pitt Kimbrough, and Jim Andrews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Easter, Jerry Klutts, Kent Smith, Charles Clanton, Sonny Sizemore, Bobby Champion, Dr. Ned Miller, and the Staff of West Point Family Medical Clinic and Urgent Care.
