Adrian May

–

West Point, Mississippi

Mr. James “Adrian” May, a cherished soul whose life was a testament to love, adventure, and resilience, peacefully departed this world on August 29, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on October 8, 1932, in Calhoun County, Adrian was the son of the late Ubes Pittman, Sr. and Alma Foster May. His journey through life was marked by dedication, passion, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to have known him. On July 26, 1957, Adrian married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Thompson May, in West Point. Their union was a remarkable life of love, laughter, and shared dreams, lasting until Mrs. Pat’s passing in 2024. Together, they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and an enduring partnership that inspired all who knew them. Adrian proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, with the values of honor, courage, and commitment. Following his military service, he dedicated 30 years of hard work as a Machine Operator for Babcock and Wilcox, where his strong work ethic and integrity left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. He and Mrs. Pat were faithful members of West End Baptist Church in West Point.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Adrian found joy in the natural world. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, often found running trot lines and thoroughly enjoyed a good fish fry. His love for the outdoors extended to camping and traveling, where he created countless cherished memories. Adrian had a knack for finding treasures in the most unexpected places. He delighted in visiting pawn shops, where he skillfully traded guns and knives, always on the lookout for his next great find. His fascination with clocks and watches filled his home with the soothing rhythm of ticking timepieces, each one a reflection of his meticulous tinkering. In his quieter moments, Adrian found joy in visiting the local lock and dams, where he enjoyed watching the barges and boats locking through, a testament to the beauty of simple pleasures. Adrian leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and a life well-lived. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an steadfast spirit that will forever remain in our hearts.
