Mrs. Carmelina "Amelia" Dimino

Mrs. Carmelina "Amelia" M. Dimino, 93, passed away on December 12, 2017, at her residence near West Point. Mrs.Amelia, as she was affectionally known by, was born on April 2, 1924, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Dominic and Rose Scanella Muscolino. Mrs. Amelia moved to West Point in 1944. Mrs. Ameila was a homemaker and along with her husband, Charles, Owned and Operated Dimino Grocery. Mrs. Amelia was a Communicant of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Young At Heart. Mrs. Amelia was a member of the American Legion Auxillary. Mrs. Amelia married Charles Dimino on June 14, 1944, at The Cathedral of Saint Paul in Birmingham, AL, and he preceded her in death on September 26, 1990. In additon to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Pete Giardina, Joe Muscolino, and Tony Muscolino. A Rosary Service will be Monday, December 18, 2017, from 9:00-9:20 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Point with visitation to follow until 11:00 A.M. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Father Frank Muscolino officiating and assisted by Father Channappareddy Basani. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Three Sons, Phillip J. Dimino (Mary), Donnie C. Dimino (Vicki), and Charles A. Dimino (Becky) all of West Point; Six Grandsons: Nick Dimino (Leslie) of Starkville, John Paul Dimino (Elizabeth) of Starkville, Phillip Dimino, Jr. of Houston, TX, Charlie Dimino of Starkville, Wilse Dimino (Crystal) of Midland, TX, and Chase Dimino of West Point; Six Great Grandchildren; Brady Dimino, Willa Kate Dimino, Jack Dimino, Cambell Dimino, Preston Dimino, and Olivia Dimino. Pallbearers will be Her Grandsons: Nick Dimino, Charlie Dimino, John Paul Dimino, Wilse Dimino, Chase Dimino, and Phillip Dimino, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joey Michel, Johnny Cangelosi, John Caskey, Paul Caskey, Leonard Dichiara, Joe C. Portera, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice, Her Caregivers: Alma Brown, Karen Norris,Debbie Gibson, Virginia Boyd, Bobbie Crowley, Felicia Farr, Buffy Byrd, Clytee Harris and all of her church family.
